Remington VTR in 243 Win

Yes. 1:12 is good up to 95gr so 1:9 1/8 is good up to 100gr, some might try 107gr.

I'll save you some money!
I have the exact same rifle and it shots everything from 70gr to 95gr bullets with great accuracy.
Slightly light and heavier bullet work well but not as well.

The best long range target bullets are Berger 95gr VLD and Sierra 95gr MatchKing.
Heavier long range target such as Hornady 6mm 105gr A-Max or Sierra 6mm 107gr MatchKing bullets just refuse to shot accurately or even stabilize in my rifle.

My first .243 Winchester with a 22" barrel would group the 105 grain Hornadys under and inch at 200 metres.
My current SPS Stainless with a 24 inch barrel will not but is accepts 100 grain bullets as it is suppose to. It also likes the 85 grain Sierra HPBT.
I tried the 105 grain Berger VLD and they were keyholing at 50 metres.

While Sierra and Berger are completely honest and transparent about their bullet stability and optimal twist requirements, Hornady is "slightly optimistic" to say the least.

Both Sierra 107gr MatchKing and Berger 105gr VLD require 1-8" twist but through some miracle of marketing Hornady 105gr A-Max are supposed to work in 1-9" barrels...
Well, very often, they simply don't. If you have a slightly tighter barrel twist they might, if you live at higher elevation they might and if the temperature is higher they might !?!?!

I spend around 100$-150$ to confirming this, it was fun but frustrating ;)

My list of best bullets:
Berger 80gr Varmint Flat Base Match (you must absolutely try various Berger flat-based bullets)
Nosler 80gr Ballistic Tip
Sierra 80gr Blitz
Sierra 95gr MatchKing
