Remington VTR stock possibilities

So I have this 597 VTR that I thought was pretty neat when it came out, I was woundering if the action could be put into another stock, if so, then any that I should look at? it does have a heavy barrel. I was under the impression there wasn't much aftermarket stuff avail for these rifles. Thanks.

The distance from the "pistol grip" to the trigger is a little to long for my hand. Also the "scallop" on the side of the stock just above the trigger guard could be deeper. Your millage may very.
I also paid over $240 for the the stock by the time it arrived at my door.
