POS trigger in ALL respects Tom Just replace it with a TT or a Timney !The lowest trigger pull I can get is 4 lb. with the external adjustment screw on the trigger.
Can it be lowered to 3 lb?
Tom
I concur.Best thing is to take that x mark trigger and toss it in the ocean. Might as well leave the Remington attached to it as well.
Ah muffin ....... Why so hateful?Best thing is to take that x mark trigger and toss it in the ocean. Might as well leave the Remington attached to it as well.
I have two Timneys that came to me on rifles that were later sold. The Timneys were both replaced with X-Marks prior to selling the rifle and are now waiting for the next assignment.I keep at least one around.
While it’s the first thing I usually replace on a 700, if I’m moving between selling and acquiring another 700 it’s one less thing I have to purchase and it’s a relative simple swap. That and not everyone wants to spend the extra $$ for a TT or Timney on a used unit.
No hate here, just sound adviceAh muffin ....... Why so hateful?

WOW Tom - your a strong Dude to PULL a 3 1/2 lb - that much trigger pull will drag a scope right off target center ! If you buy a GOOD trigger and set it to a 1.5 Lbs you prob will cut your group size in half !I turned the screw 1/2 a turn out and now the pull weight is 3 1/2 lb. I am happy with that. Don't want to spend more money on an after market trigger. Besides, I probably will bugger up the installation.
I'd rather have a trigger that breaks clean at heavier weight than one that has a lot of travel at light weight of pull.WOW Tom - your a strong Dude to PULL a 3 1/2 lb - that much trigger pull will drag a scope right off target center !
