Had a guy come by the shop today and he had two NIB shotguns. Both were Remington's. one is black and is called the 'XCS' which stands for 'extreme condition shotgun'(81309) while the other is camo and has a thumbhole and is a turkey gun(81102) Both have a 3.5" chamber.
I can't find either model in my literature. Anybody know either of these and what they might retail for? Thanks for any info.

My buddy has one of the XCS in a longer barrel model- I believe that he paid a little over 800$ for it a year ago (I seem to remember 1000$ after taxes and shipping). I'll check with him and post back - if he doens't see this first and reply directly.

You remember right Dreamwaters. I got the XCS 870 supermag for close to 1000$ including taxes and shipping from ON to NS. I love that gun and can't say enough positive about it. Reliable as hell and the coating sure seems to work- to give you an idea my first hunt with it included wading out chest deep in the Bay of Fundy and using the sling to throw the gun out another six feet to hook a greenhead and retrieve it. Gave the XCS a quick shake and went back to shooting!
Only warning is the same as every 3.5" pump- dont get all excited and short stroke the thing. Ha! That sounds like a line out of a late night movie on the french channel. :D

Gobles in ON- they have two stores and I think it was the one in Tilsonburg (my back still hurts when I hear that word....) :p
Nice guys and a smooth transaction, I'd deal with them again. Maybe I will dig up a pic or two of my XCS in action later today.

Ah -there he is - figured it wouldn't be long before Jaydog saw the thread - lol! Before I even got a chance to email!
I've seen it in action - IMO it is THE pump to have if you're going to swim around in Bay of Fundy mud. ANy shotgun that can do that and come home without a peppering of rust spots is a tough one in my book. Only ones I've seen so far that can do it are the XCS and the XtremaII.

This XCS has had a busy 12 months with lots of firsts since I moved from the east coast to the west coast. It spent january last winter hunting geese (no luck cuz I'm learning how) and the rest of the winter shooting crows. This fall and winter it has been hunting geese and ducks several days a week and now I have a goose pest permit so it still gets out 1-2 days a week for geese.

This is my first ringbill. I had to swim a small pond in late january to retrieve it and posted this escapade on CGN.

First goose! My missus spotted them coming and yelled to me and I ended up using a pine tree the size of a lunchpail for cover. Never forget this one.

First widgeon. Setup my goose dekes and the widgeon came in within 30 seconds. For me, this gun shoulders in a way that would make Orvis instinctive wingshooters drool which compensated for my jerky trigger pulling....

There are lots of other shotguns out there that hunt like a dream, but this pic is EXACTLY why owning an XCS is ideal for "extreme conditions" hunting! After a hard day in the Bay of Fundy mud, I'd come home and have a long hot shower with my shotgun.......... ;)

LOL Jaydog - like the last shot of "post-Fundy-gun-showering". Personally, I prefer a good soak when things have gotten REALLY nasty! The wife really LOVES teh greasy ring it leaves around the tub too! lol!
