Remington

Would be with open sights - something like the Tikka Battue sight would be awesome, but anything along the lines of a Firesight would be great.

Really? I think it would be a nice rifle . . . in .308.

I was thinking the same thing. For the Creedmoor, I'd like more barrel length.

Gonna give a 700 ADL a shot though. Why not, $500 is a cheap buy in and if it shoots, a new trigger and a B&C stock can be had, end up with a pretty nice rifle for a good bit cheaper than their NRA whitetail rifle.

So Joel did you get your M700 ADL 6.5 CM ? RJ

Yessir Jim, I did.

Turns out the B&C stock was a mistake. Or at least for me it was. The ADL is a pretty slim, light rifle. The B&C stock felt like a clubby 2x4. To me. If anyone else likes them, drive on.

The accuracy, at least without bedding, was the same as with the synthetic ADL stock. I shot Federal Non Typical 140 grain SP and Hornady American Whitetail 129 grain SP. The worst group I got was about 1.58" and the best were in the 0.8" range (sub MOA was common) at 100 yards.

Best upgrade was the TriggerTech Special. Made the rifle a lot more shootable to me.

It was cheap. It delivered. The finish left something to be desired in terms of corrosion, but hey an oily rag is your friend. Never one to stick with a good thing when I have it and being a rifle addict beyond hope of redemption, I took this rifle and sold it on the EE ;)

The upgraded finish, upgraded stock, upgraded trigger get you to the same price point as that fancy rifle of theirs though, so really, it IS worth it...plus you get their nicer blueprinting work, etc. If you like that stock and want the handier barrel length. Nothin wrong with that! The short barrel will do 99% of most hunting out there I am sure. But you could also just send an ADL out to get cerakoated and with good premium ammo or dedicated handloading, have a real fine shooter.
