hey i have a remington 700sps in 300winmag caliber. i have fired 2 boxes of amo with it so far. i have noticed that the gun is not overly smooth ejecting, the bolt feels ruff ejecting. and i have also noticed that there is sometimes a hairline scratch on the shell after i eject it, what could be the problem? maybe a bur on the chamber?

i never thought about that? im in alberta working now but when il go home il defantly check that out thanks! anything i can do to prevent it or just live with it lol

On extraction the ejector pushes the empty brass hard to the side... when the end of the brass exits the chamber it continues to be pushed fairly hard to the side and the brass often contacts an edge where the lug recesses and bolt raceway are... this often leaves a mark on the brass. Reducing the ejector spring by about 3 coils will reduce this mark.

sps's are pretty rough and unfinished... and cheap...
