Remington's new 1911

Besides the fact that the Series 80 setup has the fewest problems of any firing pin block, it's pretty easy to make the extra parts "fall out" if you don't want them. I would consider it the least bad of the lot.

I'm not too optimistic about Remington's ability to build a good 1911, given their quality control problems of the last few years.

From what I hear, the company that owns them and Marlin now (and whoever else) is pretty high on the enthusiast and quality control side of manufacture.
Let's not forget that Remington was the best for years and years. Sounds like these new pistols are putting the Remington name up there again.
