x2 LOL. A few trap regulars at Crumlin in London shoot them if you want to look into it further.
Might even sell one to you to fund a Beretta semi
I have had bad experience with G3's and would hesitate to buy another.
I would look for an older 1100 1970-1990s' I wouldn't be stuck on a trap model either.
I had a classic trap and found the comb too high.
Regular configuration 1100's with the right choke will smash them all day,
do your fellow shooters on the trapline a favour and get a shell catcher.
Beretta's are also execellent,
I would avoid benelli however, they are light and have more felt recoil due to being light and inertia operated. They are also overpriced because they are trendy.

I agree with you that the Benelli's are expensive. But the Super Sport is one sweet Shotgun. I had the wood version the Sport II a little more recoil but a real target crusher. Another gun I wish I had never sold. I just hope my "new" to me SX1 shoots as well.
I had a 20 gauge super sport with the comfortech stock, nice gun, but a little too light and the stock with the biggest pad was still a little short for me.
It did however break targets nicely, even worked well at 16 yds. on the trap field.
I also like the simplicity of the benelli and how easy it is to clean and maintain.
But at the end of the day if I had to do it all over again knowing what I now know, I would get a beretta gas loader, if I was looking for a semi-auto

Stock 1100's have broken more Trap Skeet & Sporting clays records that any other gun. I don't think it matters what version you get. Try a couple and see which "feels" better for you; try different stock matterials, barrel weights, barrel lengths ect.
There is certainly some truth to that some of Todd Bender's 12 gauge skeet records that are still unbroken were shot with a 12 ga. 11-87
I think the Winchester model 12 might disagree with you on that one.
