Reminton Buffalo guns

Lonestar in Texas makes beautiful copies of the Rem. Rolling Block and I'm sure they would make one in .44-90, an early necked BP round. These .44s are usually barreled with .446" or so barrels, and Rem. pushed this one as a long range target round. Necked cases got a bad rap on the frontier as the shoulder caused chambering problems due to fouling, and the shoulder would contact the fouling first in the chamber. Today's use of necked cases for BP is checkered as well, they are hard to make shoot good, and people stay away from them for long range competition, preferring str. wall cases or sloping cases such as the 40/65.
Lonestar makes all models including, side lever opening and a copy of the Carlos Gove conversion to lever action, check 'em out......Ben
