Remmington Triggers

I have a lot of trigger time behind 2 rem 700 xcr2. One in 270 and one in 3006. With the x mark trigger or whatever it's called.

270 with the adjustment screw at any position including all the way out had a crisp clean 8 pound trigger. Hold up a cocked gun scoped and all by the trigger and it wouldnt go click. Replaced it with an aftermarket.

3006 has a much better trigger. Have it set at 3 pounds and it's been flawless. It will go down to 2 pounds but then it wouldnt always ####. Not sure why.

Have not had time to check my Remington out yet but will in the next day or so . One more thing also is that the safety is not all that easy to push forward . I have tried other Remington's and they seem easier to push forward. Maybe that is a good thing .

....That said, Remington 700 and Seven triggers suck. Very heavy pull with limited adjustment. (bold emphasis mine)
Certainly not my experience.

That's funny stuff, right there :) ....... I'd be glad to take all your sucky 700 triggers off your hands, esp the older ones.

I was thinking the same thing.

I have always liked the Walker triggers, and as mentioned, if you want a real
trigger job, contact Dennis Sorensen [Guntech on here] He will make it right.
If you MUST replace it, then buy a Triggertech. Best affordable replacement
I have seen. Dave.

All Remington 700 triggers new and old can be slightly reworked and adjusted crisp, light and safe by a competent smith... for a fraction of the cost of an aftermarket replacement.

For those who wish to dispose of their factory triggers many of us will gladly take them and pay the postage too.

Yep!

i called remington and they told me it was the epoxy they used would get to hot and melt to a liquid form causing settings to go wacky
if you call they will tell you if yours is on the list.
if it is they want you to send your rifle in and they will replace the trigger.
save yourself the headache and just replace it with a timney or a triggertech

What headache,it took 2 weeks from my house to warranty smith and back to my home, all free

The trigger issue is not new I was doing Remington warranty work in the mid 80!s to the mid 90’s and they had recalls then . Not because there was s trigger problem it was there was a people problem everyone was a gunsmith / trigger adjuster most people had no idea what they were doing . In correct sear ingagement and you have a problem . The Remington trigger was the best factory trigger ever built now it is a piece of crap . It’s always someone else’s fault . Here’s a thought leave it alone if you don’t know what your doing
