First, sorry no pics but willing to send to any email. I really like the Magpul Angled Foregrips that are installed on my various GSG 15 and 16 models. So I attached a $10 Ruger10/22 rail 3.5" back from the tip of the forestock, then attached a Magpul Angled Foregrip. This is so much more comfortable for my wrist. Next I added a "budget" Center Point dot sight, which then required a Blackhawk cheek riser for proper eye alignment, (from Cabelas). I have a Promag 22rd mag and the Remmy 30rnd , and the stock ten round. Soon I will get to the range to zero this build, it loves Blazers, so ammo selection is done. If you know of any sites that have 597 bits and pieces please post, thanks.

Not much out there for the 597’s. You can get the Volquartsen items available through Sylvester Sporting Goods, Sylvester , Alberta. The charging handle like the post above. I think There was an ArchAngel stock at one point, but Boyd’s Stocks has them inserted and you can order one of them as well.

I'll second the mcarbo kits. I did both the spring and the hammer in both a heavy barrel 22 and a regular barrel 22mag. Turned a decent but heavy trigger pull into a thing of beauty. I was using SK ammo in the 22 and it shot amazing. Could be 1/2" capable at 50 with a better scope. The 22mag shot just as well with only one type of ammo tried and I can't remember which. That one had a better scope on it. These 597's may not look like much but their accuracy is impressive for a semi. Both rifles have the rail and regular rings too.

There isn't another semi auto rifle out there in the same price range that has the same level of accuracy as these things do. Mine hasn't found much that it won't shoot, obviously some ammo shoots better than others. There are a couple of small tricks to keep them working good.
I really haven't done much to mine. Flipped the hammer spring around. Consistent but made a noticeable difference in the trigger pull.
Loosen the grub screws to the guide rails. Mine are flush with the receiver body and held in place with a touch of nail polish. This ensures that the bolt rides the rails straight.
I did polish the bolt where it slides against other metal. I'm not sure if that really did anything because I didn't chrono any ammo before of after, but it feels smoother when you manually cycle the bolt.
I did install some sling studs as well since there isn't any from the factory, at least on the HB version. I also put a slip on recoil pad on the butt end for a little longer LOP.

You mention a couple of tricks to keep the 597 working good. Could you throw some light on those tricks? I had mine out the other day and at 25 yards I had nice tight 10 shot groups then changed the trigger hammer and went to a Mapleseed event and had a tough time putting the same groups together plus had some FFTs.

I love my 597, take it on almost every range trip.

Just recently swapped the original hamer spring for an ar hammer spring and put metal bushings in. This reduced the trigger pull from almost 7lb to a nice 4.5 lb.
Spring is only 3 bucks at True North Arms, couldn't justify a mc carbo hammer spring for about 40 bucks.

Also made an oversized mag release;

VQ extractor, 1/2x28 threaded bbl, Varmint stock, DIP pic rail, sling swivels, CGN mbr charging handle, DIY Brit DPM paint

VQ internals in mine, polished key areas of the bolt, very light on the lubrication and leave the set screws for the guide rails slightly loose. I also went one step further with the bolt and headspaced it. Got my Mapleseed Rifleman badge with it.
