What do you guys recommend? I am thinking of putting a hogue on it. Keep in mind I want to mount a surefire tac-lite on the front.

So what is all out there?? :beerchug:

Gentlemen:

I thank you for taking the time to post this question. As such you saved me a tremendous amount of time and frustration.

I am doing a my version of a Brobee 870 build and was going to order the M69 from sure fire. however that was around 185 + tax. Further, no one was sure when they would come in due to permit requirements.

Now I am able to get this one for 110+tax. $75 savings is pretty large in my books, and I belive it should be here in two weeks more or less.

Mine is manufactured by FALCON INDUSTRIES and will look like this:

and the description is as follows:

FALCON INDUSTRIES said:
Easily Converts The 870 For Tactical Applications & Accessories
Ultra-strong, lightweight, slide assembly replaces the factory 870 fore-end assembly and provides a tactical mounting platform for optics and accessories with three, MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. Three removable, rubber rail covers give your hand a comfortable, no-slip gripping surface when shooting and cycling rounds.

SPECS: Extruded aluminum, matte black. 5¼" (13.3cm) long. Rail covers made of black rubber.

I may end up replaceing the black rubber with some type of Tan pannel, as that is the look I am going for, however want to see this unit up close and personal before I do anything.

Thanks once again for the help, and will post pictures when the build is done.

Regards and all the best

To the original poster, the hogue foregrip is great. It gives fantastic grip control even in wet conditions etc., but of course it doesn't solve the light issue. As a temporary solution I installed a surefire on a M3 adaptor mounted to the mag tube.

I'm very interested in hearing how you folks like the different rail grips you have mentioned. I'll likely order one from redleg, but I'll wait for Robert's review first. I'm glad there are some more reasonably priced options available now. :)

LOL!! Dude you did it again!! LOL!! The name is Richard

But will do my best to give you guys a review. I am becoming an 870 type guy, these darn guns seem to be attracted to me.

Right now, my tactical 870 wears a Houge over molded stock set, but over time it has also worn the standard Speedfeed set, as well as the stock Remington police wood set. It will be interesting to see how these all stack up against each other.

Isn’t this world of shotguns fascinating??

I still have four rail forends left over from a previus batch. They are selling for $100.00 Cdn and are about an inch longer than the Wilson. PM me if interested.

Gentlemen:

Just a quick update.

The original fore-end I ordered from Falcon Industries was sitting on my suppliers desk and got sold before I could get there. NO issues, he and I are good friends and he asked before he did so.

At the end of the day I ended up getting one of baalan;'s "Canadian made" versions. I just got it yesterday, and must say that I am very pleased.

While I this project is not yet complete, I did ad add a Yankee Hill Machine Company folding vertical handle that look like this:

YHM-9560.jpg

I have not shot it yet, however my first impression are quite positive. I have never used a vertical grip before, and it is quite unbelievable how solid and positively one can cycle the action with one of these setups. I may even take it to the trap pad to give it a try.

I will post pictures as I have an opportunity, and as the project nears completion.

Regards and all the best
