Just wondering if there are any issues with them as I see them for sale on EE all the time. Is there an issue with them not being high enough to co-witness through an optic?

Thanks

I don't think there is any problem in that regaurd, just not the Troys or MBUS Pros people want them to be. That and the Tavor comes with Back up sights integrated into the oem rail too, so having the second set that is rail mounted is quite redundant.

This is exactly why I sold mine, because they are already built into the rail. I don't need back up BUIS. They did co-witness through my red dot, so that wasn't an issue.

I have a Spitefire 3x site on my Tavor so it doesn't really work with co-witness, but I put them on an AR and they co-witness with my Strikefire nicely. The fact that they were 'free' and that they have an illuminated front post is just a bonus. And yes, I like Vortex.

The Tavor already comes with ones integrated into the top rail and fold down fully so take up zero space and even have a tritium front post and will work fine if needed you just pop them up. The extra ones that it come with are nice too they are metal and they even have another tritium front post but I just took mine off since I run an scope anyways and the built in ones are already there so no need for 2 sets of iron sights. The integrated ones are very basic tho the back sight is just a non adjustable hole in a post and you just adjust the front sight the Tavor comes with a special little wrench tool thingy for adjusting the front post.

Are all the newer back up sights tritium tipped? I have a gen 1 Tavor that is. Im curious if all generations are.
I just checked the ones on our sales rack and confirmed the front sight posts are tritium however the rear sight has an indentation on either side of the aperture however there is no tritium in them...strange. Phil.

Mine has the tritium on the front posts of both the front sights (in rail and removable)...I just got the rifle and only have open sights, I know it's redundant but I've decided to either keep the take off ones on or replacing them mbus pro or troys....i just don't like the sights in the rail, even as a seldom used back up.

Back up sights to back up sights that are a backup for an optic.

I guess you need tripple redundancy in Israel!

I guess if Haamas captures you it sure wont be because of lack of sighting from your Tavor.

I'm going to use mine in the new lefty SBR that Arms East is sending me. The built in BUIS in my Tavor work well enough, and are completely out of the way. The removable ones were a nice bonus...especially since they have the tritium post.
