removal of SKS front sight and bayonet lug

Lots of luck bro! I posted the same question ages ago in the Red Rifles forum. The short answer? Some are tight and some are looser. Drift out the 2 pins (if you can). I broke my drift punch and had to re-grind it and hammer with all my might to get the pins out. I tried heating the bayo/sight assembly and it still wouldn't twitch. Finally I ended up grinding the bayonet lug off, filing off the excess, and bluing the bare steel. As a result, I still have the foresight on if I wish to use it, but I don't have the other hardware snagging on brush when I'm hunting. I'm enclosing a pic. Good luck to you.
