How can I safely and easily remove the enfield #4 front site ? I have to take it of so I can put on the rear most band (the one next to the receiver) on a #4 I am de-sportsterizing.

well you have the 'ears' or front sight protector off, that easy. taking off the front sight base requires you take out the pin with a punch then knock off the front site base.

Easier to drift out the front site blade from the base and bend the rear band a little and slip it over. :)

good luck and post pics when your done.

Like he said :)

Once the front sight blade is off, the ring can make its way on the barrel.

Some No4 front sights have a screw that tightens the blade though, and requires a bit of dremel use to fabricate an adapted screwdriver for it.
