remove me

I would have given you 120-150 for it to upgrade my Stevens 200. I'd have lied and said to let me throw it away for you though. Not sure if that is on the high end or not though.

I traded my old barrel that went to an ar15 for some gunsmithing work but that was a standard profile barrel. Not a bad barrel for a swap on a Stevens 200 and Boyd's stock do a budget build up. I'm at .3 moa with handloads so not a bad experiment.

I'll ask around over here as a friend may want to do the same.

Dig around the web and you will find that the prices on a new replacement are not too far above that.

Barrels from aftermarket 'names' are a bit more.

Used prices are pretty much all over the map, depending on desirability, condition, etc.

The price range given seems about right to me. Lots of demand for a .223 barrel, lots of demand for a heavy one, and lots of guys out there with Savage/Stevens rifles that can use it.
Maybe you could get a little more, but it may be as much worth your while to swipe some oil through it and tuck it in the corner of your gun locker for later, if you wish to try a different barrel or caliber.

I had one fellow CGN'er that gave me his take-off .223 barrel in favor of a .17 Fireball, which turned out to be a bit of a disappointment to him, and he ended up needing it back. It happens.

Personally, I think it worth more in the safe than in the wallet!

Cheers

Brand new take-off, maybe as much as $150. If it has been used, nowhere near that. Yours is more desirable than most. Generally take-offs seem to be advertised in the $50 - $150 range.
