Well guys, I got a beretta 686 silver pigeon 20 gauge on its way in the mail. :D
snagged it up from prophet river earlier today. Should have in a couple days. Can't wait!! Been wanting a 20 gauge o/u for a while now..and debating between a browning or beretta.. I've owned brownings in the past, great guns, but I've always admired the look and feel of a beretta. And a light 6 lbs or so in 20 gauge to boot!!

Should make for a great grouse gun

what are your experiences with them?

I have the exact same gun and I love it as does everyone who shoots it. Originally I bought it as a grouse gun but I've used it for just about everything (turkeys, geese, grouse, rabbit, informal clays). Slim, light, quick handling.

My only complaint is that the wood is really plain on mine (which may be a blessing, its got a few scratches from thorns and rocks). I found recoil to be pretty stout with turkey loads (bordering on unpleasant).

Sounds good...Yeah, the wood isn't bad on mine, not completely plain, but the norm for beretta's "base model" over/unders. And yes, sometimes that can be a blessing lol... I won't be hunting turkeys here in Newfoundland..Will be a primary bird gun (grouse and maybe willow ptarmigan) with an occasional snowshoe hare thrown in the mix, duck or two here and there, and some past time trap or sporting clays..

Thanks for the reply..
