To many of you this may seem a dumb question, but if I don't know ... I don't know, and gotta ask ... be nice. Brand new CQA. Dis-sasembled, cleaned and re-assembled and all is good. One thing though, my removable handle has abit of backward/forward play now (about 2-3 mm) and I can't remember how it was before I took it off. Seems to me it should be solid. Do I line the bolts with the grooves on the rail or the high point? ... or is this normal?

Cross bolts in the slots, tighten lightly, then put some forward pressure on it while tightening firmly. It should be as far forward in the slot as possible when tightened down.

No luck. With forward pressure, I can tighten the bolts until my fingers hurt ... still have play ... strange - this seems pretty straight forward ..??

Tightened as much as I could using pliers and a cloth over the bolts ... still has play ... didn't make any difference. They only thing I found works is to jam a small piece of cardboard underneath to make it more snug. Not terribly concerned about the handle, but I plan to add a scope ... sure hope it fits tighter!

Not sure what the specs are on the Norinco, let alone quality assurance...:p But maybe try another handle? That kind of slop sounds excessive to me & it would be useless to mount an optic to it & expect it to hold a zero. Find a friend or look for a used one on the E/E. Hopefully it's the handle with the slop & not the rail.
JB Weld maybe your friend if that's the case!;)

Don't know anyone else with one, but I've seen others at the range with them ... maybe I'll make friends and swap handles ... I suspect it is the handle because rail is a rail and I don't see any obvious deformities to it.
