Removing 870 Mag Tube dimples

Just added a mag tube extension to my 870. I need to remove the dimples in the mag tube so the extension will function correctly. Anybody have a method that worked well to remove them without damaging anything.

File,dremel or knock them out
Ive done them a couple way you can drill it out then file down or dremel them off or just file them off, i prefer the dremel takes 5 minutes.

Tried to pound them out a bit. then dremeled them down and sanded to smooth out the finish.

I have heard that if you get a socket from a socket set, where the outside diameter is about the same as the inside diameter of the mag tube, you can hammer that down the tube and it gently pushes the dimples out. I can't remember the socket size that works, but it may have been 17mm.

If seen lots of ####ed up mag tubes that way

Dremel works best.

get yourself a sling plate to retain that mag tube, as the thing will loosen off.
