Removing a Parker Hale Bolt

I have a 7mm bolt action that I can't figure out how to get the bolt out. I thought it was a Remington but I have figured out its a Parker Hale.

What is it registered as? That may help in identifying it... how about posting a picture... maybe a description... maybe take it to a gun shop...

Some bolt actions require the bolt to be forward then while the trigger is held back the bolt will withdraw.. maybe some require the trigger to be held forward with the same procedure... there are other various buttons, levers, etc. that release the bolt, some hidden inside the action on the left rear side... if you can't figure it out maybe remove the metal from the stock and see where the release is...

On the left side of the action... the part that contains the bolt... it should be marked with the word "Remington" and a model name (for instance "600" or "700" or "Mohawk" or "788", etc.)

No name. On the opposite side of the bolt handle there is a small square with a screw in it near the back of the action. I will try to post a pic, wife hid the camera.
 
Did the Rem 600 idea work? The small rectangle with the screw in it sounds like a mauser design. Try pulling the front of the rectangle (closest to the muzzle) away from the action. If it is a mauser design it will pivot at the back, hold it out and the bolt can be slid out. Replace it the same way. There are lots of unmarked mauser military conversions on the market.
 
I have quite a few of them. There are various models. The most common is a variation of the Mauser 98. The bolt release is on the left side of the receiver (round piece the bolt goes into) near the rear. Works like a lever. Pull the end of the bolt release (at the front of the small square piece) away from the receiver, that is, to the left if your looking at the rear of the gun.Lift the bolt handle all the way up, and pull it out to the rear, assembly is the reverse. - dan
