Removing Antlers for CWD testing

How are you guys removing the antlers to send the head away for cdw testing? I would really like the entire antler so I can put it on a donor head for a skull mount. How have some of you guys done it?

Used a hack saw and cut the top of the skull and antlers off, leaving a skull cap if you get what I mean.

This is what I do as well.
Just make shallow cuts in the skull and take out a small piece of skull cap and you won't disturb the brain matter too much.

In AB you can remove the samples yourself to send in and keep the skull.

I just zip off the top of the skull with a reciprocating saw. They take the samples for CWD from inside the mouth in the upper mouth cavity so removing the top of the skull is perfectly fine to remove and still submit the head for testing.

Dig out the brain stem and send it in. The guy down the road has been doing that for the last couple years.
