Had my .308 Howa bedded this spring, used it at the range all summer and in the bush this fall hunting, So now I want to give it a good cleaning. Tried to take the stock off, It is seated pretty darn tight, I pulled on it abit but when it didn't come apart as easy as I thought it would, I was afraid of breaking something. Should it be this hard to pull apart? It should come apart right!? Thanks for any help!

the rifles i have bedded are tight. grab the barrel at the end, hold the stock and wiggle. it will come apart unless whom ever bedded it glued it together. if desperate put in the freezer for a couple of hours then try again.

My bedded rifle needs to have the muzzle thumped on something soft with the action screws out. My futon works really well. Mind you, you really shouldn't have to take off the stock for a good cleaning.
