Removing Bolt From M14 With an ARMS 18 mount installed.

Hi All,

as the thread title states is it possible to remove the bolt from an M14 with the ARMS 18 mount installed? i would hate to have to remove the mount every time i take my bolt out to give it a thorough cleaning.

Yes, the bolt comes out just fine without removing the mount. Once you install an ARMS18 properly, there should be no reason to remove it again unless you want to.

I'm guessing that you already have the mount and are having trouble getting the bolt out. Much like when you first started playing with M-14s, you have to hold your tongue just right and the bolt will slip out. Keep playing with it. You will discover the magic angle to pull at.

Its a tight squez to get it out. I had a set of cheep rings on mine with bulky foot clamps that got in the way of the one spot where the bolt came out. In the end I had to move the rings.
