Removing butt plate from 10/22 TD

Has anyone removed the butt plate from their 10/22 TD ? If so how did you go about removing it and putting it back in place? What sort of mods did you do which required removing the butt plate? I'm contemplating putting a swivel stud through it.... !?

Mine looks like it is glued in. I don't think it's meant to come apart.

I just used the thread in style on my TD. I have taken one of those stocks apart to shorten it for my daughter and the but plate was glued in. IIRC the glue was kinda brittle and it wasn't a big job to get it apart.
