He is easy to find ( Raymond ) as he lives two doors down from Mike in Canmore Alta.
As Dennis mentioned it would be easier and more cost effective to change ones name.
Looks like a Rem.1100 and thus if one is collecting there are likely less costly options out there to replace it if the name is that much of a bother.
One could just paint over the name and not worry about it and shoot it and enjoy it for what it is.

A buddy bought a truck that ejected much of the roof when he took it out an was beating around some rough ground. Figured at a minimum, it had two full gallon cans of filler scabbed in. He pulled the headliner and kicked the dent out, and it actually looked pretty decent.

Hahaha, my old neighbor was a paint and body guy. He told me about the steel wool trick, said guys would do it and tell a potential buyer that they had put "new metal" in when they did the body work lol. He had some good stories about #### like that.

I had an old 240 Volvo wagon, one time I was kicking snow and ice out of the rear wheel well and a chunk of body filler broke off of the wheel well at the corner of the rocker where it meets the arch. I pulled a shop rag out of the hole that someone had stuffed inside prior to filling and sanding, I had a good laugh.

Take the receiver to your local trophy shop that has a professional engraver. They can work that into a floral design that is next to impossible to see.

I had to do that with a Remington 1100. That was about 10 years ago but IMHO the cost was reasonable. I believe it was around $100 cash.

I once had a Vega I bought for a winterbeater where someone had patched a rusted out fender with duct tape and a smear of bondo. Needless to say it didn't last too long...

^^^ Back in the 60's & 70's engraving your name or sin number was a popular thing to do to to make identifying stolen property easier.
The idea was actually encouraged by the police departments back in the day.
