Removing forearm lug on pump action

I haven't had this big of a problem before. I am trying to replace the wood furniture on my 870 Wingmaster Mag but that damn forearm lug is stuck good. It appears as though it was tightened so hard so as to actually bite into the wood a bit but it is hard to see if this is actually the case. Is there a good way to getting this thing unstuck ? I have the forearm completely removed and I improvised a wrench of sorts to fit the slots on the lug. WD40 time ?

The WD 40 may help a little. If the current furniture is in poor shape I have just split the fore wood off leaving easy access to the nut. It is easier to place your wrench/tool in a vice put the fore end nut over it and turn the fore arm with both hands. Be careful they do tend to split. I don't need to mention that twisting or holding the action bars is a bad idea. Once bent they are f-----.

I had the same problem.....after cursing a bit I used my head and this is what I thought of.

Get a good pair of scissors and a pair of pliers (Robo-grip/mastercraft). Seperate the scissors to fit snug into the two slots of the forearm and clamp the scissors so there locked into place...then slowly/forcefully turn to the counter-clockwise (Righty-tighty.....lefty-loosie)

Yep, this is what I ended up doing (too bad I didnt read this when I started ). Most claw hammers seem to be a perfect fit for removing the forearm lug (I tried 3 that I had at home). The torque and leverage allowed by the hammer handle helped alot too.
