Gentlemen, I am having trouble getting rid of the last remnants of Acraglas release agent from my savage action. The bedding worked perfectly, but now I'm reduced to peeling shreds of the release agent from the metal. Is there some sort of solvent that would work? I have a stainless action, so I'm not worried about ruining any bluing. Thanks for any tips.

Erik.

Best tip I can give is to use Mothers Liquid Carnuba Wax as a release agent next time. Put it on the action, recoil lug and first few inches of the barrel with a small paint brush, let it dry, buff it off the outside of the action with a cloth.

No residue to peel off and the bedding matches the action perfectly with .0000 tolerance.

High pressure air sometimes helps removing it... after 25 years of dealing with it I switched over to using plain old clear paste floor wax applied with a soft brush, smoothed out as best possible and let it dry for 10 minutes or so... it releases beautifully and cleans off with solvent very easily...

Alcohol (iso propal) will remove it as will a toothbrush and hot soapy water.
Removing release agent is not nearly as frustrating as removing a "glue bedded" action from a stock.
