Removing grip tape (from CZ)

I an opportunity to buy a CZ SP-01 that has some grip tape on it. I'm not into that so I'd be removing it, but want to make sure that it wont damage the grip, or that it's not damaged already. Whats the best way to do this?

I don't think it would....peel it off slowly at the bottom corner to find out.

I think more likely you'll just have a s**t ton of glue on the grips. Goo Gone is amazing for that.

I replace my grip tape all the time....it might help to stick the gun in the freezer for a few hours before you do this....frozen tape sucks #### and usually comes off easy

I just have mine on the grip. No matter, if the grip tape is on the metal slide, freeze the slide....I think it would come off real easy after that

Start with wd40 if you want to remove it
if it does not remove it you can also try a heat gun or stronger solvents

Me neither, but I do like that rear sight. I don't think lifting it will take off the blueing.

Heating it with a hairdrier would probably make it easier to peal off. Can you use adhesive remover on the the plastic parts or is that a no no?

yeah when we would remove grip tape from our skateboards we would use a heat gun ... and it didnt wreck wood

Heat releases the glue and wd40 cleans it up nicely.
