How hard is it to remove Hydro-dip from a Carbon Fiber stock?

Does anyone know what a Gunsmith would charge to do so and then repaint?

I have a Savage 10 that was, what I assumed was, hydro-dipped in that stupid US UCP camo pattern, not carbon fibre though.
I just de-greased it with isoproponal and painted it myself. No issues 5 years later.

I think the hydro dip is usually bonded fairly well to the stock... if not sand it off and paint...

Would there be any problems with proper bonding of the paint by doing this?

If you prep it well, degrease and scuff the hydro dip well adhesion should be fine. I would give it a coat of primer and a sand/scuff before you give it a first coat.

I’ve got a rifle that was dipped at the factory and later painted by a buddy, he clearly didn’t scuff it or degrease the barrel or action very well. When I wrapped some electrical tape around the muzzle for hunting it removed the paint revealing the original dip, thankfully it’s a rifle I drag around the bush and I’ve rattle canned the stock camo. It just adds to the overall look of it, it’s no safe queen and I like some honest wear. I might sand and repaint it if I feel so inclined.
