Guys,
I recently purchased a Kimber Warrior for a bargain. However, there is some holster wear, and I'd like to refinish (GunKote or ArmaCoat - haven't decided). But in order to do that, I need to remove the rear sight. No problem, I say, as I've removed and installed night sights in three other pistols, without issue.
DANG is that rear sight in tight! I'm using a plastic rod and a BIG hammer, and I can't get the sucker to budge. I have the slide wrapped in leather, and tight in a vise. Any harder and I fear I'll damage the tritium vials...
Any tips on where to go from here? What would a gunsmith do? I don't even know if a 1911 sight pusher would have enough oomph...
ANY advise would be appreciated.... or should I just refinish with a non-bake finish, and carefully tape off the sights?
