Removing Old Paint.

I recently bought a fiberglass M-14 stock that was painted by the previous owner. The paint is runny in places and is otherwise ugly, so I'd like to remove the paint before putting on a coat of my own.

What is a good solvent to use to remove the paint that won't harm the fiberglass? Is Easy Off OK?

EZ-Off is a grease remover and is caustic. It's made for enameled steel. It will lift paint off wood, but I wouldn't use it on fibreglass. Crappy Tire or Home Depot should have a paint remover for fibreglass. Either in the Paint dept or Automotive.

Try EZ Off (oven cleaner) on a small bit and see what happens. I use it on plastic all the time with no problem.
