Removing paint from a CZ 858??

I sandblasted mine but in your case I think chemically stripping the paint would be better to leave the surface smoother. I would hate to have to polish away all the sandblasting pits. The other thing worth mentioning is the rifle is not all the same materials. The reciever has a high nickel content that will make the bluing come out a plum colour and the gas block is stainless which may take the bluing if it has a high iron content (poor quality stainless) but since it wont rust with potassium chlorate from the primers I doubt it'll take the bluing. I wanted to do this to mine until I learned these things so I blasted it and sprayed it with krylon flat black. Ill be stripping that away for something better this winter or spring, its not holding up very well at all

just sent them an email !

I plan on converting mine into a PSL clone, just received the butt stock today !

I love the laminated wood look ! and the long barrel lends itself nicely to such a project !

Cheers !

i just put on some FAB defense green goodies on mine and wanted to take the shine off the paint, so i took some scotch brite to it wore thru the paint, F%$K! stripped it all with scotch brite, and repainted black, should have left it alone
i think the receiver is alloy/pot metal stuff, not to blue
