Removing pastic residue from bore

Can anyone suggest a good product to help remove plastic residue left in a bore from shooting sabots ?

It works very well at removing the fouling from cheap plastic shotshell wads. It is easy to make & inexpensive. I made up a gallon of Ed's Red about five years ago, it should last me another five years.

Ed's Red recipe:CONTENTS: Ed's Red Bore Cleaner

1 part Dexron II, IIe or III ATF, GM Spec. D-20265 or later.

1 part Kerosene - deodorized, K1

1 part Aliphatic Mineral Spirits, Fed. Spec. TT-T-2981F, CAS
#64741-49-9, or may substitute "Stoddard Solvent", CAS #8052-41-3, or
equivalent, (aka "Varsol")

1 part Acetone, CAS #67-64-1.

(Optional up to 1 lb. of Lanolin, Anhydrous, USP per gallon, OK to
substitute Lanolin, Modified, Topical Lubricant, from the drug store)

Mix outside, by the way, safe to use indoors, but mixing ought to be with good ventilation.

Wipe Out Bore Cleaner make a special product just for this application-its called Wipe Out "Painless" for black powder and plastic residue.

Balistol an water. one part balistol mixed with 10 parts water. Spray it down the bore wait a bit, and push trough patches. Easy, peasy.
