That's exactly what I used on mine.

You guys are right... lots of nice wood under that shellac... and the new oil finishes really bring out the depth.

"...get the shellac off..." It's actually the 'correct' finish. Shellac is a cheap wood finish that works well. However, as mentioned, alcohol of the rubbing variety will take it off.

And so does the insect repellents contain DEET.Found out at my first summer milsurp shoot at the EOSC so I took all of it off with methanol and then put another finish on it.
