removing sights assy from SKS barrel

im having a difficult time hammering out the pins of the front & rear sight assys on a SKS barrel (the bore as some rust) . i have tried but it wont budge , any helpful hints would be appreciated.

soak WD-40...then try heating around the pin...keep tapping it as it cool down... don't go crazy with the hammering..you'll flatten out the end of the pin and it will never go through..

If you flatten it you can live with it or drill it out..use a over sized drill bit...drill like 2mm deep and try punching again.repeat as required.

what ever you do be patient and take your time...Candian Tire has propane torch kit for less then $20
 
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember they (or some other gun pins) may be tapered and only come out one way. Have a real good look at both ends. You may see a difference in diameter.
