Hello,

Took my new-to-me refurb'd Russian (51 Tula) SKS shooting today, and it performed flawlessly! Pretty good 50 meter accuracy too, all in the target.

Anyhoo, went to clean it, and everything went well ,except the stock on mine seems very tight to the receiver, and I didn't want to force it that much. Is there a trick to getting the stock off the receiver? Its a laminated stock. I had it completely stripped, but for the stock.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Once you removed the trigger group and the magazine, wiht the rifle upside up, grab the rifle by the receiver with 1 hand and with the palm of your other hand, tap on the buttstock on the upper side to free the stock. A tight fit stock is good:)

Mine is incerdibly tight as well, love it!

1.Extend bayonet
2.Place rifle upside down on padded table.
3.Hold receiver assembly tightly against table with a rag wrapped screwdriver or punch, with other hand lift the stock firmly.

Good luck!

Hey, thats a good idea; I'll give that a try, thanks.

This receiver/stock is a very tight fit. I tried with pretty good force, and it barely moved...maybe 1/4" out of the stock. I may just leave it like that!
