Removing spike bayonet from chinese sks?

Been messing with this trying to get it off. It looks like one screw but it's in pretty good and I thought I'd check here before I put too much pressure on it. I'd appreciate some info, thanks.
 
Some are indexed a little tighter than others. Use hollow ground flat screw driver bit, with a hex to 1/4" socket adapter and use a 1/4" Ratchet handle. Push down tight and hold barrel while SLOWLY turning. It will break free and then you are set. A couple more turns and you can finish turning it out by hand.
 
I've never had issues getting a Chinese bayonet to unscrew, but I do have a 55/56 Tula that is pretty well impossible to get the bayonet off of. Any more pressure and I'll start stripping things.

I've been meaning to buy some penetrating oil or something to attack it, but I don't really care all that much about it and I don't shoot that SKS as compared to my Chinese one much anyway. Good luck, and if you're worried about putting too much pressure on it, I'd suggest stopping before you strip or mar something, it's what I had to do.
 
They are staked in place, not tight. Use an impact driver. You can buy a cheap one from Princess Auto. Use a good fitting bit. A couple hits with the impact driver will break it free from the staking then it will turn out by hand.
 
just a word- SHOOT IT FIRST- some CLAIM removing the bayonet throws the balance off
 
Using what I have said above I have gotten even the most stubborn one to come off easily with no damage to the screw slot. And I have removed many and reinstalled them.
