Removing the bolt from a BSA Majestic???

This might sound like a stupid question... but does anyone know how to remove the bolt from a BSA Majestic Deluxe? I have one in .308, and I've spent over an hour messing with it, and simply can't figure it out. I've spent some time searching online, and I've found several people with the same issue, but no resolution. One guy even said he had to completely disassemble the gun to get the bolt out... So far I've tried pulling the trigger, pushing the trigger towards the barrel, the 'half safety' method I've read about, and generally looking all over the place for another release of any kind. Tried with and without the mag open... just can't figure it out!

When I get home I'll try this again. I wasn't methodical enough in my trying to guarantee I would hit it with that low a fault tolerance.
 
Finally! Success! "... a pain" is the most understated term for this bolt! There's roughly a 3mm window where you have to 'pull' the trigger back and then remove the bolt. And even if you get it just right, it still sticks like crazy!

I think it depends on the wear on the individual rifle.
An almost new condition 222 I have is very difficult to remove the bolt and a well used 458 is instantly done...
 
For the OP, I suggest taking the stock off and you will be able to release the trigger mechanism that causes the trouble and take the bolt out.
Then you can see at what point of the bolt's slide back, that you should put hard forward pressure on the trigger, to release the bolt.
But, some are really hard to get working properly.
 
The first time I tried a BSA and the bolt wouldn't come out, I took the stock off, so I could examine what was holding the bolt in.
After seeing what holds the BSA bolt in, it is a cinch to get the bolt out, compared to some model Parker Hale rifles, that have a stupid pin in a very cramped place to remove, before you can get the floor plate off and get the bolt out.
The worst part of the Parker Hale is you can't adjust the trigger, with the stock off! So every adjustment on the trigger means going through all the frustration of getting the stock off, before you can adjust or try the trigger.
With the BSA Majestic, the trigger can be fully adjusted and tried, while the stock is off.
