I was searching on here, and on the net generally for some instructions on removing the rear sight drum on a Swiss Arms carbine. Can't seem to find anything.

Anybody know of a link to some instructions, or is it just a matter of backing the screws out all the way?

Is there any trick to it or no?

Apparantly it can be done fairly easily with no damage to the rifle, I just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I want to try a new optics set up with a scope and rings I already have, and I need a couple more millimeters clearance.

Thanks.

I removed mine in order to fit a scope better and had no problems. If I remember correctly there was at least one spring under tension so be carful it doesn't flyaway on you. I just used a downloaded copy of the user manual and had no problem figuring it out. Just do a search for a SIG-550 or related type maunual and you will find it no problem. There is also a thread with a link to a page full of manuals here in the site. Just found the link http://stevespages.com/page7b.htm
