removing the front sight on a ruger m77

I have a ruger m77, older style, the rear sight was removed before, and have no idea how to take off the front sight

Remove the front sight, and look for the setscrew. Loosen this and tap off the banded front sight base.

Interesting. Have removed a number of the sight ramps from M77 rifles, without having to resort to the use of liquid nitrogen. May have warmed them up with a propane torch.

"...the use of liquid nitrogen..." Somebody is thinking about the air outside. snicker. Ruger does have a tendency to use extremely close press fitting though.
