Has anybody had any luck removing the paint from there 858's? I'm talking about a method that would not damage/remove the parkerizing underneath? Perhaps some sort of chemical stripper? And if this has been covered i did use the search, came up with nuthin.

I'm not sure exactly what pain they use on those, but I have a green can of brakleen product somewhere in the shed that strips paint off of anything it comes near. Found that out the hard way trying to degrease something once. Doubt it would damage parkerized finish.
You can surely arma coat thereafter without parkerizing. Parkerizing is just superior to paint in terms of protection. If it's non chrome lined then you should consider sending it to Rauch Tactical to have the whole thing finished with his nitride finish that covers the whole rifle including the inside of the barrel. It is one of the best ways to rust proof your rifle. If you have a chrome lined then parking the rest of it would be the icing on the cake.
You can take the paint off if you submerse the parts in lacquer thinner, I have found some guns flake off quick and others need to be blasted. But I hate to burst your bubble but the park job underneath is pretty terrible. They do not blast them before parking so you get a piss poor blotchy park job that is thin. The best way is to remove it all and get a fresh start. There is a alot of shortcuts taken on these guns, even the mags, they are not even blasted before being painted, hence why they flake like crazy.
