Hey guys, I usually have a harris bipod mounted on my rife but would like to be able to easily use it off the bench from my bags. Does anyone know of an adaptor or anything that can mount to the twin sling pins on the fore stock? I would rather not thread the pins in and out to save potential wear and tear.

Lotsa choices commercially available if you don't want to make your own...

X2 on the anshutz rail. Stronger and offer infinite adjustment of position. You can then mount bipods or a handstop or a sling swivel or whatever else you can think of. I had my stock relieved so it fit flush and of course most important, they look badass.

I had my 5R done by a gunsmith. He drilled and tapped the bedding block that runs through the foreend, and had enough room for the rail to sit flush. I got the rail direct from McMillan it was $30 plus shipping with 4 screws through it the length of the rail which is about a foot long.

I got my rail from a buddy who is a machinist and makes them. It's about 3/8 of an inch thick I'd say, but that still didn't leave much wood left to screw to. He epoxied it first and then used small bolts. They are hex head bolts with heads tapered like a wood screw. Opened up the holes in the rail so they sit in flush. On the top side, in the barrel channel he counter sunk the nuts into the wood so they are flush too. Rock solid.
