Has anyone had issues with the gen 2 Pmags in the Renegade? I bought a batch the other day and they dont quite fit like the gen 3 window mags I have. My gen 2s wont allow me to operate the bolt release unless you pull back on the bolt and wiggle the magazine around, maybe they just have a break-in period and will get better with time?

Any more word on LTAC doing semi-auto mods to the Renegade/Maverick?

Is it possible that you're over inserting the magazine? It sounds like maybe a part of the PMAG is getting in the way of the bolt just enough to mess with the Bolt Catch.

Someone in Reddit reached out to them a month back, and the answer is no.
 
I had issues with 10 rd steel XCR mags would not lock home. Renegade seems picky on mags you just have to find a brand that works. I am currently using IMI.

Yeah, it could just be that maybe the geometry or specs on your gen 2 mags or the Maverick's mag catch are just put of line enough that its easier to overinsert them. Probably try to be a bit more careful with them then the Gen 3s.

For what it's worth, the duramag that came with mine and the Crossmags I use haven't had any issues both before and after I changed the bolt catch.
 
I find all mags fit mine, magpul gen2 very well, the duramags and XCR mags are tighter, but lock and feed fine. They don't just drop free, which is doesn't bother me.
 
I dont need them to drop free, infact id prefer they didn't as I mostly shoot at an indoor range and am not running around or anything like that so its easier to drop them on the bench. The gen 2s insert and drop free just fine but I cant release the bolt catch....its weird because if you pull the bolt back and wiggle the magazine, the bolt hold open actually clicks and then you can release the bolt to chamber a round....its not a huge problem, im not taking it to war but I cant see much of a difference between them and the gen 3s and they work perfectly.
I could just buy more gen 3s i suppose
