Probably close to 25 years ago, I acquired a Winchester 9422M. I can remember the guy bringing it to my house and my first impression was that he brought a .30-30 rifle. I can't recall if I paid $250 or $275 at the time , or how I even came across it.

But I'd forgotten how gorgeous and well made this rifle is. A lot of intricate parts in that breech block. It has a few scratches on the receiver and a little loss of bluing at the bottom of the receiver where it would have been carried. But otherwise in very nice condition. The walnut is beautiful. I would say it is from the early '70s. No checkering.

Time to put a scope back on it and get it out on gophers next spring.

Yes, I'll get pictures up soon.

Nice! Look forward to seeing the photos...ideally beside a dead gopher. :)

I had a 9422 years ago (.22LR) and made the mistake over-paying for a NIB one. Had the option of buying used, a little more mileage, and honestly wished I had. Anyhow, I let that go and thought "no more levers" because I find tube mags annoying. lol In recent weeks, I've been toying with the idea of getting a Marlin 1895G in 45/70. Wondering if the appeal of THAT lever has to do with age...or the cigar-tube-sized empties that pop-out when you cycle the lever after each shot. :) Either way, I'm back to thinking about levers, and have even considered a 9422 in 22WMR as an option. Probably more useful to me than a 45/70 too!

I bought one 25 some years ago 9422M with the laminated Marshield finish, it's still unfired and i think it worth 3X what i paid for at the time... JP.

I have a mint 9422 in 22lr. Love it
It's the only lever I own right now but with a daughter on the way I've been looking at the Henrys and thinking about having one custom engraved for her
Henry has really upped their game and there's 5-6 I'd like for myself

I spent a month loading for my buddies win 94 in 32 special and decided I need a lever hunting gun as well

I bought my 9422M somewhere around 30 years ago.
Beautiful little rifle with dark checkered walnut stock.
I've hardly used it since it's so nice and I wanted to preserve it, but I missed shooting it so much, I bought a Henry in .22 a couple of years ago
The Henry is really nice and very accurate. So much fun.

I do love me some lever guns. Ive have played with the idea of a Henry in 17hmr. They seem to blemish so easily though. (had one in 22lr)

Ive had some very nice 22lrs and the only one that could keep up with accuracy of the 17hmr was an annie... SO spend 2k on a 22lr or spend 300 bucks on a savage in 17hmr and blow any 22 out of the water lol.

Norinco had a limited run of 9422 knockoffs, but I never bought one...kicking myself now

I have one, picked it up off the EE for around $225, it works well enough, feeds well and what not, only problem is I swapped the sight out for a bullseye style and still havent gotten it quite in the right place.

You probably won't see them often, but keep an eye out and you might pick one up, the new 9422's are a bit more expensive obviously...
