My wife and I took in the Renfrew Gun Show last weekend, and while there was plenty of "the usual", I always find something interesting or useful. It seems that I have developed a soft spot for old hardware store gopher guns so just as we were leaving I grabbed a nice old Marlin 81DL

This old girl looks like she has spent about 60 or so years tucked away in a closet, with the bluing almost like new. I am pretty sure that the grease I cleaned out of the action was put in there at the factory. The bore is shiny and sharp. Sunday afternoon I probably put more rounds through her than the last two generations before me.
I also managed to pick up an extractor for a well worn old Cooey 39 from one of the shows last fall.

Did I pick up the deal of the century? Probably not, but it was a nice day out and I have given some new life to some dandy old squirrel guns.
How many generations does it take to wear out a Cooey extractor? Anyone know?
