Repainting Swiss Arms Blue Star

Can't wait to repaint my newly acquired Blue Star. I'd like to know what type of paint and procedure would be the best for this process. Did anybody, actually repainted these rifles before? Ta

Yes they have but I'd think it through first. I've got one and it is still original so when the scary green and black ones get baned I will still have my smurfy friendly blue rifle Ok kiding aside the factory finish is really good and plays an important roll in protecting the rifle. I would not remove the old finish but I'd would and will likey spray paint over top of it with krylon paint, this can easly removed later if I want to or changed to different colors as the season requires.

very tough to do because the plastic riveted to the upper will melt

Armacoat doesn't need baking. It's air-cure.
