What is your go to for stiffer 1911 mag springs? I've got a last round ftf issue and I was thinking of replacing the springs and followers in my act-mag 8 rounders. Pretty sure it's a mag issue, my other choice is to ditch the act-mags and try a different brand of mag.

I don't know of a replacement part source. However, I have had the same issue with one of my two Norinco mags, as well as the stock Kimber mag. I bought two Para Ordnance mags. They are 8 rounders with a polymer follower. No issues. I then received a Wilson Combat #500 ETM model. They are by far the nicest mags I have ever owned.

Wilson combat are good. I like the stock smith & Wesson ones. Cant you just stretch the bottom 2 rungs of the spring a tad for a bit more force?
You can get mag springs from brownells...

I have stretched the springs already, as well as increasing the angle the smaller top coils sit at. It helped to eliminate mid mag ftf, but I'm still getting last round ftf. I've polished the feed ramp, took off any internal burrs, tested the extractor tension and replaced the recoil spring. All of which helped, it might be the follower. It's a smooth follower and not a dimpled one. Seems like the last round is still diving and getting hung up.

Wolff extra power springs are a good replacement. ACT followers are fine, nothing wrong with them and I prefer a captive follower to the GI style.

Another vote for the Chip McCormick parts....
I put the 8 rd conversions in a couple otherwise stock 7 rd mags, and they worked flawlessly.
