my dad has a m1941 johnson that needs a new barrel sometime in the past someone got a bullet lodged in the barrel and shot it out so the barrel has a bulge in it now (right behind the front sight).

anyone know a place to get one up here in canada ? or somewhere it wouldent be to hard to get a replacement barrel for it ?.

You'll find one lying around, like you'll find a winning lottery ticket in the ditch.

The problem was old corrosive ammunition and bad maintenance. You might have to consider sleeving the old one.

It's just a 1903 Springfield barrel with the barrel extention threaded on.

there was a place i had found a while ago that had them. but they were in the states and the guy wanted like $600 american for the barrel.

i hafta have a close look at it. but im not sure the stuff at the base of the barrel can be unscrewed. its all welded to it i think.

I would like to get a new barrel for my Johnson as well, but the only one I really want is from a Joe Scott in Texas, but like someone else above said, they're $600 a pop. Mine is fine bore wise, but for some reason the front sight is tilted over to the left. Plus it doesn't have its lug anymore either.

Last Johnson barrel I saw was at the Calgary Gunshow in 2006, and it went for $200 to some lucky guy who knew what it was sitting in a barrel of barrels. Bastage!
