Good morning,

I stripped the F%^& out of the action screws on my Sako 85.
I have a special hate on for those torx screws.
I'm thinking that if possible I'd replace them with a flat-head screw.
Does anyone know of a source that would have the screws of the correct dimensions to replace this POS screw set?

I believe sako 75's share the same dimensions but have slotted heads rather than torx.
You can order them from brownells or stoeger here in Canada.

They are also the same as tikka bolts, which there are several aftermarket sources for (cheaper than factory) but I believe all are torx.

That's great to know, I'll check Brownells right now

Seems brownells has sold out of the 75 screws - or they aren't listed under the schematic where they were listed. Sorry

Stoeger should have them

I sent them a email and got this reply:

M85 S/S $59.95
Blue $49.95

M75 S/S $49.95
Blue $44.95

Plus shipping and tax.

Ouch!
I'm probably going to buy aftermarket Tikka screws, because $59 plus GST and shipping! someone's getting screwed.

You’re going to replace superior Torx with inferior slotheads? Have you tried not torquing the ever-living daylights out of the screws? Alternatively, coat the threads with a quality moly grease and you’ll likely skip those issues entirely.
