I would like an adjustable rear sight for my norinco 1911 and obviously I would need a larger front sight also. Has anyone done this to there's and what sights did you use? I have written millett about what size I need for a front sight and after 3 times I have given up on them. All i want to know is what size of front sight did you use with the corresponding rear sight. I stopped in to Western Gun Parts and you might as well be talking to a brick wall, unless you know exactly what you want they are no help.

Just check out the millet website...they will tell you what front sighs work with what back sights....

I put on a set of Bomar sights and kept the original front sight..painted it white...

When you tap (bang) out the original sight...be careful...they are designed to come out one way only...hit the correct side....and protect your slide in case you miss...

I cannot remember what side to hit the rear sight on...look around...you'll find it...or I am sure some one here will post....

For most of the aftermarket rear sights I use, (Novak, Wilson, etc.) I put on a .200" or so front sight and then sight in before finishing the sight :) If I were to guess at it and had no opportunity to sight in, I'd go with .185"

There is a rear sight, adjustable, that works with the stock front sight, though, put out by Pachmayr. These overhang the rear of the slide a bit for a longer sight radius, too :) I usually have some here..
